MaI love the sport, the competition, and the relationship with the kids. I have been a teacher here at Mahwah for 18 years. I used to be a software engineer but left to become a teacher. Being a teacher and a coach is one of the most important jobs out there and its an honor to be called coach and make an impact on kids lives. Its not something i take lightly.
Favorite memory: Beating Bergen Catholic in the Bergen County Quarterfinals last year. Experience: I have been varsity coach for 8 years here at MHS and I also coach travel hockey. I coached girls volleyball for 4 years. I went to Mahwah High School and played Football and ran track. Boys Basketball |
I love the competition and the challenge of pulling off upsets. There is nothing better then having your team believe and execute a plan to knock off a better squad. Also I enjoy making memories with the boys that will last a lifetime. I still communicate with former players and we love talking about games from there HS careers. I live in Mahwah with my wife Michelle a former Mahwah Thunderbird and my 3 sons Mikey, Jack, and Cole. I just started my 23rd year of teaching.
Favorite memory: My favorite memory as a coach was beating Ramsey on a buzzer beater in 2017. Ramsey was the best team in Group 2 that year and Kyle O’Malley hit a shot at the buzzer. The crowd went crazy. We were probably 20 point underdogs that night but our kids fought on every single possession. Experience: Assistant Football Coach for 23 years Head Basketball Coach for 17 years I played 3 sports at Waldwick High School then went on to play College Football and started four years at quarterback. Favorite Sport/Team: My favorite sport is football. I love watching the New York Jets with my three sons. Hometown: Waldwick Passion (other than coaching): I really enjoy visiting MLB and NFL stadiums with my family. My middle son Jack loves autographs and he has a huge collection that includes Aaron Judge, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rogers, Joe Namath, and Jacob Degrom to name a few. |

Bowling |
I love the game and enjoy seeing the student athletes having fun and reaching their potential.
Favorite memory: Former player, Ethan Moskovitz, rolled a perfect game (300) at the BCCA annual tournament in the 2020-2021 season. It was only the 4th perfect game of that event in it's 40 year history. He made The Bergen Record's Athlete of the Week for his achievement and his plaque is the only bowler on the HS "hall of fame" wall outside of the gymnasium of which I am aware. Experience: Rolling a 704 high series many years ago. It's my only 700 series as a player. Favorite Sport/Team: My favorite sport is football, and I am a NY Giants fan. Hometown: Secaucus Passion (other than coaching): Playing guitar and singing, songwriting. |

Swimming |
I coach because I want to be able to make an impact on students' lives just like how all the coaches I have had did for me. I started out coaching a summer league back from my hometown. I later went and coached at Cedar Crest College as a graduate assistant coach and became the head coach of the program a year later. After graduating with my masters degree, I moved to Mahwah and began coaching the team in 2021.
Favorite memory: Although my favorite memory did not take place on the pool deck there was a week last year where our team was in a funk. Over all, the team and myself were having an off week. When we were driving over to practice, the new bus driver that was taking us to practice went a different way. As we were driving, I heard scratching noises on the ceiling and the next thing I knew, the emergency door broke off and the bus was stuck under the bridge. This helped bring our team a good laugh that they needed and a memory that no one will ever forget. Experience: I have been coaching swimming for two years at Mahwah and 6 years coaching altogether. Favorite Sport/Team: My favorite sport is swimming and my favorite sports team is the Philadelphia Eagles Hometown: I grew up in Media, Pa. I went to Penncrest High School. Passion (other than coaching): I love to work out at Orange Theory. |
